Silver palaung women wear a wide metal called a 'nong rurh'.  In the past these were made of silver, but now they are made of aluminum
or some other inexpensive metal.  Women also wrap a plain white sash around their waists, which is called a 'nong ruh'. The rattan hoops
are considered a sign of beauty.
