I have just finished reading David Attenboroughs Autobiography called 'Life on Air' in which he talks about the Birds of Paradise of New Guinea and his pursuit to try and film them in the 1950-60s. Your photos do his accounts every justice - well done! Ron

The photos of your Eclectus Parrots are the best I have ever seen. You can really see the detail in their beautiful feathers which look like velvet.....

Robert-do you travel just everywhere to locate this number of exotic birds? Have you been photographing birds all of your life, they are the best photos I have ever seen,bar none. You must sell them to bird book publishers as they do not have near the quality for the number of species you have here. It was a wonderful experience to view your work! Thank You.

What beautiful pictures! I do have a question, though, about the picture of the "Catumbella peachfaced lovebird". I was under the impression (after much research) that the catumbella has disappeared due to trapping for the pet trade and the coinciding hybridization with the A. R. roseicollis subspecies. How do you know this is a A. R. catumbella and not just a particularly bright A. R. roseicollis? Most of the old pictures of the A. R. C. show that they have/had very little "fading" over the ear coverts, but this specimen shows quite a bit. Please e-mail me if anyone has the answer!

This is a great gallery! I work on Saturdays at Miami Metrozoo and do interpreting at the beautiful new Asian Aviary, (finally constructed after being destroyed by Hurricane Andrew)...which has a lot of these birds! It s great to print out your pics, since rarely do I get to see them this close up and personal...thanks!
