A short trip to Istanbul in May. Despite being a Camera Club "Jolly Boys" outing there was not much wildlife,except the evening that Fenerbahce just missed out as league champions.... but there were plenty of old historic sights.
- We took a ferry trip along the Bosphorus and later in the week, visited:
- Topkapi Palace
- Basilica Cistern (this required around 1600iso and a rest for the camera)
- Beyazit Mosque
- Tomb of Suleiman the Magnificent
- New Mosque
- Blue Mosque (also known as Sultanahmet Mosque). The interior shots mostly required around 400 iso.
- Hagia Sophia (or Aya Sophia, or St Sophia)formerly a Christian church, then Islamic mosque and now a museum. The interior shots mostly required around 400 iso.
- Kariye Mosque, formerly Christian church, then mosque and now a museum. The interior shots mostly required around 400 iso.
- Taksim Square and Galata Tower
- Grand Bazaar
The light levels inside the mosques, museums etc was often rather low
