Fred, you could hike part of the European long distance path E4 (also known as GR7). It starts in Tarifa, the southernmost point of mainland Spain, and leads from there via Ronda through various mountain ranges of Andalucia (including Sierra Nevada) all the way to Murcia. You can choose freely which part you want to hike. It's all beautiful landscape out there. Best time of year to hike is any season except summer. Hi Rob, Want to do a 200 to 300km trek in Andalusia in March 07 Any suggestions for the best area at this ttime of Year and do we need maps and where can we get them.
