Mention that you are going to Iran and most people will look at you strangely. If ever there was a case of not "judging a book by its cover", Western perceptions of Iran are simply wrong. With its plethora of historical sites and incredibly welcoming and hospitable people, Iran is easily amongst my all time favourite destinations.

While travelling in Iran is not without some challenges, Iran is an exceptional destination to those who are prepared to adapt.
