Museum at Prambanan in Central Java

The Prambanan complex of temples is located in Central Java between Yogyakarta and Solo (formerly Surakarta). The complex has both Hindu and Buddhist temples. The temples were built in the 8th. 9th and 10th centuries. On 27 May 2006 an earthquake of magnitude of 6.4 centred on the coastline south of Yogyakarta hit the area which caused some quite significant damage.
