This shot was taken the night of the Slave Lake fire which destroyed over 1/3 of the town of Slave Lake,population 7000.Where I was this evening was a few hours north of Slave Lake but the smoke from that fire and others burning at that time was evident in the pink haze that hung over the town of High Level.I drove a mile out of town to capture this very different sunset.
