Locomotive number 41 was built in 1920 for the Jonesboro,Lake City and Eastern Railway in Arkansas by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia,Pa. The JLC & E was taken over by the St.Louis & San Francisco Railroad in 1925 & the locomotive was renumbered Frisco number 77.Number 77 saw service with the Mississipian Railroad in Amory,Miss. from 1947-1967.It was then sold to the Muscle Shoals Railroad Club and then the Huntsville Depot Railway in 1987 and renumbered to Number 9.
It was bought by the Central Western Railway in 1989 and sold to Alberta Prairie in 1990.They have since repainted and brought back it's original number 41.It was converted from coal to oil it consumes reclaimed oil at a rate of 10 gallons per mile or a gallon every 4 1/2 minutes.It also consumes 100 gallons of water every mile.
The engine weighs 135,000 pounds and has 1000 horsepower.She stands 13 1/2 feet high and carries a boiler pressure of 200 lbs. steam/sq.inch of boiler area.
