This bird was found on a lawn on Pine Place Road which juts into the marsh well north of the Powder Point Bridge. This series of 4 photos show sufficient features to differentiate the Pine from a similar looking first winter Blackpoll Warbler. It is only lightly streaked on its breast and has a more substanital bill. The back and nape are unstreaked. The grayish auricular area is set off by yellow from the throat curving up behind it (esp clear in 3rd photo), and there is a more pronounced eye ring than seen on a Blackpoll. Finally, I got the ID checked by a couple of birders with more warbler expertise than I, and their conclusion was also a Pine Warbler. An unusual bird in the winter and especially on Duxbury Beach!
