Buttery Pines

I have attempted to photograph the Buttermere Pines on many occasions. On every occasion previous to this, it has been cloudy or raining. I have spent hours waiting for dramatic lighting conditions, and given up many times. This time however there was no waiting at all. Whilst on a workshop with Charlie Waite and Paul Gallaher, we drove round the corner of the road and there they were; side light beautifully against a dark in-shadow backround. "STOOOOOP!" I cried. I ran to the side of the road to set up. Within 2-3 minutes the right side of the trees was in shadow...
