Clouds in my Coffee

The photographs in this gallery are all captures of a drop, or several drops, of milk falling into coffee. I was inspired to attempt these shots after visiting the PBase galleries of Irene Müller.
Using the last 12 coffee photographs, I try to show the complete cycle that takes place when a single drop of milk falls into coffee. I have added comments to photographs where I think they may be helpful or interesting. I hope you enjoy these photographs and thanks for viewing.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try. I don't have any electronic traps , so I'll give it a shot . I saw the stuff by Irene , they are great.

To create an umbrella you have to release two drops of milk into the coffee. The first drop after 'bouncing' upwards, from the coffee surface, collides with the second drop which is falling downwards and this collision splits open the falling drop to form the umbrella. The timing between the two drops is critical and although I use electronics it can be done by hand. Beautiful Gallery ! I tryed to do the milk/coffee shot , but I can't figure out how to get the umbrella effect. Mine alway end up with just a drop (like your cafe13297)

You certainly captured some beauties here. It's fun and very interesting to do, isn't it ;-) Did you use a time gate? I did mine without one but it took a lot of experimenting.
