Cows in Bluebonnet Valley

Bleiblerville, Texas

This scene illustrates what early pioneers might have seen
only with bison. The pioneers would have seen the bison grazing
in the bluebonnets and mistakenly thought the bison were eating
the bluebonnets. Thus, one of the early names for bluebonnets was
"buffalo clover."
