Treat yourself to a part of American Indian Heritage and visit a Powwow in your area. The dances and colors are truly beautiful as well as learning their culture and heritage.

If you do go with your camera, please ask any individual for their permission prior to photographing them and also try and contact a official of the Powwow as to what can be photographed. Alot of the dances that are done are sacred dances and should not be photographed.

I must add that alot of the Powwows are held in areas that the backgrounds leave much to be desired such as telephone poles, cars, crowds of people watching etc. so most of the images in this gallery were enhanced in Photoshop to eliminate the bad backgrounds.
