Longs Peak Hike

Longs Peak is located in Rocky Mountain National Park and is 14,255 feet high. It is the only 14er in the park and is the 16th highest in Colorado. We hiked the standard Keyhole route which is 15 miles long and climbs 5,000 feet in elevation. The last 1.5 miles of the hike is rated Class III and requires use of yours hands and very careful footing with large dropoffs. Due to the length of the hike and the exposed conditions, it is necessary to start well before sunrise. It tooks us just over 11 hours to complete the hike.
