Mt. of the Holy Cross is 14,005 ft. It is located about 15 miles southwest of Vail. The trail is very good up to the treeline, but after that disappears in many sections and requires some scrambling over the boulders. The trail is 12 miles RT with 5600 feet of elevation gain. It took us about 9.5 hours to complete the hike.
