We had big plans to hike several 14ers this summer, but Shelly and I both had serious injuries and were not able to. After long recoveries, this was our first real hike. We did a circle around Summit Lake by going over Mt. Spalding at 13,842 feet. Even though we have been to the summit of Evans nearly 20 times, this was a great hike. We saw lots of scenery that you don't get to see driving up the road.
I have always thought of Mt. Evans as kind of blah (but I have only driven up). These images make it a beautiful place. Your use of light and color is superb. Thanks for posting!!!
