People and Birds Enjoy the Warm Winter_While it Lasts
December 2006 was the warmest December on record. The migratory geese around Loch Raven took advantage of this by foregoing their usual migratory route and handing around the Lake. They took off in large groups, flew around the lake, and landed back where they started. Just when we thought that we would have to get used to global warming, we were hit with a cold spell, leaving the birds sorry that they did not fly south. They now have to crowd in the small amount of liquod water left that is not ice-hoping that Spring will come soon.
