This file Gallery will show a Photo Display of the Medal Awards & Decorations earned and awarded to individual members of the 56th Signal Battalion of the US Army, honoring their service in WWII from 1941 t0 1945. The source of the awards data is from local Battalion records and a result of verifications of unit historical records at the National Archives in Washington, DC. The unit was assigned to the Fifth Corps in the European Theater of Operations and served from the June 1944 DDay landings on Omaha Beach, Normandy and across Europe to Pilsen, Czechoslovakia in May 1945.
