I've always been intrigued with cropping. You placed the subject in the upper half, leaving a sense, to me at least, of distance and isolation. I think that works more than if you have moved the subject to the bottom. But I never can understand just what makes a crop like this "work" or "not work." Sure, there are rules, but the key to me is just my response, I think. Nice picture.
