Autumnal Bashang 壩上秋獮

壩上草原、木蘭圍場、圍場壩上、塞罕壩 - 幾個看似陌生的名字，一個令人嚮往的地方。

圍場壩上位於河北省最北端和內蒙古克什克騰旗交界處，全稱塞罕壩國家森林公園，塞罕壩蒙古語的意思是“美麗的高原”。
壩上是陡然升高的草原地帶的統稱，地貌以大草灘為主，並融合森林、湖泊、河流、濕地、峽谷及丘陵等，也是灤河與遼河的發源地之一，
因此被譽為“河的源頭、雲的故鄉、花的世界、林的海洋”。
壩上景物資源豐富，四季變化顯著，尤以其原始秋色最為人樂道，故近年已成為令影友癡迷的熱點。

塞罕壩在三百多年前曾生長著茂密的原始森林，清朝康熙年間被劃為“木蘭圍場”，每年的秋天都在這裏舉行秋獵盛典，
也就是一次遊樂型的軍事演習，稱為“木蘭秋獮”。

古時滿清皇帝木蘭秋獮搜禽獵獸，攫得老虎老熊野鹿山雞不計其數；今天發燒影友壩上秋獮捕風捉景，拍過正片負片菲林數碼不亦樂乎。
意相遠但性相近，能否成為一時佳話，且看看我們的收獲吧!!

Bashang is located at the border of Hebei Province and Inner Mongolia in the north-eastern part of China.
It is known to be the royal hunting ground during the Ching Dynasty more than 300 years ago.

It has become a major attraction for photographers for its special landscape with grassland, valleys, forests,
lakes and mountains welded together.
Whilst the sceneries of Bashang vary in seasons, its autumnal tints are reckoned to be most attractive and artistic.

To Aunt Pat, these photos were taken during 20-25 Sept. 2005. Mid to late Sept is the best time to visit Bashang in terms of colour but you still need to hope for good weather. Good luck!!

Hey Nette, nice to read your comments. I'm also using conventional cameras. For this trip I bought four cameras (wow!), mainly used two for slides and one for panorama. I scanned the -ves/+ves into digital formats by myself and very little editing work (e.g. cropping) was done during/after scanning. I still ponder if I need a DC.

Dear Raymond, Your photos are really very impressive to me. What kind of camera are you using? Did you do any editing to the photos? It's not at all easy to use DC to take such photos (especially those sunrises/sunsets). My husband is also very keen in taking photos but he can only do it with conventional cameras. Nette

hay ray i'll stay tune, like the typography here, looks really archi'! do bring along some original (if possible) on the big day. i'm still struggling if i should bring mine to the site, or a photo cd instead ~kYle
