The county of Danba is famous for its concentration of ancient stone towers, which
earns its reputation as 'Thousand Stone Tower Kingdom'.
Danba is also characterised by the colonization of Tibetan folk houses, which are detached
wooden houses with 3-4 layers and a flat roof.
The towers in Shuopo and Chunglo villages come in a vast varities in terms of shape and function.
The folk houses are usually painted with Sky, Moon, Global, and Star symbols in white color,
which is believed to bring luck, protection and grace to the residents.
The mixture of towers and folk houses has created a special while harmonic landscape along the river valleys of Danba.
