Snow Geese at Squaw Creek NWR

Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge, Holt County, Missouri hosts incredible numbers of Snow Geese during spring migration, peaking in early to mid March. During the days I took these photographs (March 11 and March 14, 2011), refuge staff estimated between 1.5 and 3 million Snow Geese were using the refuge. Squaw Creek NWR is located along the Missouri River floodplain in northwest Missouri, approximately two hours north of Kansas City.
