*Bird Behavior Sequence*

American Robins
and
Cedar Waxwings
=> 11 Photos <=

When the berries ripen, the bushes adjacent to Shoreline Park host a annual feast for American Robins (Turdus migrators) and Cedar Waxwings (Bombycilla cedrorum).
On this particular day, the robins and waxwings were mobbing the berries while the "owner" of that section of
berry bushes, a Northern Mockingbird, frantically tried, unsuccessfully, to chase the outsiders from the area.

The Cedar Waxwings seemed to be quicker eaters than the Robins.

These three waxwings were really working this section of the berries

The nictitating membrane of this robin's eye can be clearly seen in this photo.

Down the hatch.

The frantic and indignant "owner" of the berries.
