The Luminous Mysteries - II. The Wedding at Cana

Jesus you begin your ministry with a miracle; help me to follow you.

1. There was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited.

2. When they ran out of wine, Jesus' mother said to Him, "they have no more wine".

3. Jesus said, "Women, why turn to me? My hour has not yet come."

4. His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you".

5. There were six stone water jars there for the ablutions customary among Jews, each holding 20-30 gallons.

6. Jesus said to the servants, "fill the jars with water", so they filled them to the brim.

7. Then He told them,"now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."

8. They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.

9. He called the bridgroom and said, "People generally serve the best wine first, and keep the cheaper sort till the guests have had plenty to drink; but you have kept the best wine till now".

10. This was the first of the signs given by Jesus. He let His glory be seen, and His disciples believed in Him.

I suppose not. Either way, that was a LOT of wine.

there is no way to tell whether he changed the water in the jars or the water in the WELL to wine!
