No matter where I live, I'd always want a serviceberry tree because they are a magnet for birds, but now that the berries are ripening, the squirrels also have a taste for them and their bulky weight on the delicate branches snaps twigs and where the branches are too delicate, the squirrels don't hesitate to purposefully pull, bend and break the branches to bring the berries closer. Squirrels: the perpetual menace!
