Parasitic Jaeger

I was out this morning with a number of other people watching a Parasitic Jaeger loafing out in the water and occasionally flying up and down the beach. During one of its passes along the beach, the jaeger, in pursuit of a gull, dropped to the shallow water near where we were standing and perched for a moment before taking off again. Jaws dropped at the sight of this very rare bird perched so close to us. I already had my camera raised and tracking the jaeger as it flew by, trying to get flight shots, which were turning out to be too challenging with this swift bird, so when the jaeger hit the water I was already poised for a shot. I managed just two frames at 8 fps before the bird took off. I know this is not the best shot, but for a bird this rare…
