The beaver has girdled some of the large distinguishing trees north of the ridge like this one and felled some of the smaller trees. If this beaver continues doing what it's doing the area north of the ridge could look very different in the near future. I really don't want to see any of the bigger trees die. These are the trees that attract the insects that attract the warbles that attract all of us in the spring! But if these big trees were to be felled then it would provide for a better view of the river and rapids from the ridge, and the river and rapids there are often the location of interesting bird sightings of the waterfowl and predatory bird kind.
