Coron is locoated south of Manila and north of Palawan. You get there by using regular commercial domestic airlines (Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Zest Air) to Busuanga Airport. Then a 30 min Jeepney ride to the pier and another 30 min boat ride to the resort.

We stayed in El Rio y Mar (The River and Sea) Hotel. A wonderful hotel with all the amenities you need for a relaxing vacation. After dinner, guests are invited to participate and try out Philippines folk dance.

I am not a geologist but the numerous hot springs around and limestone formations similar to that of Mt. Pinatubo, Coron must be from a violent volcanic eruption long ago. One interesting place to visit in Coron is the twin lagoon where the cold fresh water from a crater lake meets the hot salt water of the sea. Somehow, it takes more energy to swim in this mixed-up water...
