Finishing my hat, yes the one I bought!

Montecristi is the home of the Panama Hat, rather confusingly in Ecuador, not Panama!

The hats are pre woven in different approximate sizes, then a former is used (the bowl shapes in the background) that corresponds to your actual head size. The hat is then steam ironed round this former, and finished with a band inside and out.

My head is apparently "Mucho Grande" .....
