Quality control: 3 Sigma 135mm f1.8 lenses

Distance to subject 6.5 feet or 2 meters.

Spiratone YS 135mm f1.8 #100444
Raynox Polaris multi-coated 135mm f1.8 #00773
Raynox Polaris 135mm f1.8 #100232

Exposure varies at same f-stop, possibly due to coatings, ap adjustment, whether inner triplet is painted black on the outside or not. Spiratone has factory black paint on inner triplet, Raynox looks hand painted, for same result of increasing contrast and sharpness.

Second Raynox did not get a good chance on text due to less exposure. Other Raynox and Spiratone look close on quality control. All three look close in performance on gold letters. I ought to re-shoot the third one for text comparison.

These shots are from farther away than Alf DaSigmaGuy Beharie's pigeon and squirrel eye shots. Given that these are from a little farther away, I think these suggest that this lens is sharper than people assume from looking at galleries of wide-open pastel shots such as fog in cemetaries and cypress swamps. It's sharp. If some are not, look at the inner triplet for black paint--there's hope.
