If you shot this in raw and have photoshop CS or later, perhaps some shadow/highlight would bring forth detail in the dark portions. Also, trying some alternative croppings might be worthwhile. For instance, a bit less top and a bit less left would place the bear's head in a hot spot while preserving woods, rocks, and water and what would remain after that cropping would be in the direction of the bear's gaze. Regardless, fine shot!
