Spring has finally arrived here in the OK (Okanagan.) Fred and I decided to take advantage of the
sunshine and go for a hike in Knox Mountain Park in hopes of catching the Arrowleaf balsamroot
blossoms at their peak. (This lovely 'mountain' park is an oasis of natural beauty in the heart of the
city. In recent years Knox Mountain has been surrounded by developments as the city has grown, new
houses replacing the once abundant orchards and forest.)
These flowers literally carpet the western slope which faces the lake and makes for some pretty views.
Unfortunately, it always seems to be windy there making it hard to get good close up shots of the
flowers. This is one of maybe a couple snapshots that turned out all right (besides the wind problem,
I haven't figured out how to work my new camera.) I'm hoping to get back later this week closer to
sunset--that is if the wind cooperates.
