Dec 2009 Fred Schaad

Speed Skating

Kelowna, British Columbia

I woke up Friday morning to find the hard drive on our computer had died.
It was a terabyte drive that was nearly 3/4 full, with mostly our photos.
I fear they many are lost forever. Fortunately, we have most of our vacation
photos backed up on DVD but many are not. Especially, the local stuff like
Tranquille and most of my sports photos made in 2009.

Time to make new photos. This one was shot yesterday.

Canon EOS-1D Mark III ,Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM ,Digital
1/400s, f/2.8, ISO 2500, 153mm full exif

other sizes: small medium original

Bummer, Fred! That would ruin my day. Great shot, sharp, perfect colors and framing.
I hate bruning CD's so I back up to two external drives once a month, so I have my images in three location. Just a thought, Fred!

Terrible losing the photos! My wife laughs at having a backup HD for the backup HD - this is why! On the positive - this is a great start to the sports category! Impressive ISO performance!
