The Launchpad

Kelowna, British Columbia

One of the "young-ins" about to launch himself at the "Flirt'n With Dirt" competition at City Park
in August during the 2008 Center of Gravity event in Kelowna. This is where top riders competed on a
dirt freestyle course. The athletes included a list of local and national professional
freestyle mountain bikers.

I would rate this as one of the best images I have every seen. The composition is superb, making an extremely interesting image. The exposure is dead on. The colors are exactly as they should be. The image is sharp enough. A Definite VOTE from me!

Wow , what an amazing shot. At first glance I thought the flames were coming off the back wheel and then realised they were on the flag. Tremendous use of w/a to creat e a very dramatic shot. V

That's a great shot...with a lot of superb details... the shy around the biker, the flag giving the impression that the wheel is burning, the perfect restitution of the hight of the pod, the feeling that he's ready the start...
