The town of Pushkin served as the summer resort for the Czars of Russia from the time of Peter the Great to the last years of the Romanov dynasty. The city is covers 1482.6 acres, is composed of three main grounds, 100+ buildings, and is an ensemble of palaces and parks.
Today Pushkin is a "suburb" of St. Petersburg and is slowly growing and adjusting to the market economy in Russia. It is home to two universities and three military schools.
