We found one very similar to this at our house in Central Florida today (Oct. 14th). The only differences are the brown color extends all the way to the tip of the wings instead of being just a stripe and there silver color in the dots are almost like pinpoints! I didn't know they lived in our sub-tropical climate at all.

We live in south carolina and recently took a picture that looks very much like this moth, I thought silk moths were not native to this country?
