SERBA 2008 - Highlights

I was recently at the 2008 Southeast Reaginal Ballet Association conference held in High Point, North Carolina.
Over 300 dancers from 22 ballet companies gathered for 3 days of class and performances.....here are the highlights!

Most of these images were shot with a Canon 5D set at ISO 1600 and my Canon 70-200 f2.8L IS lens.
I shot a few with my Mark III set at at ISO 1600. Because I move around a lot, all shots are handheld...no tripod or monopod was used.!

Great gallery. Large pictures which must have been painstakingly timed and taken. Excellent job! Would like to recommend to anyone who love graceful art like ballet.

Hi Richard...nice job, as usual. I like the backstage shots...you should do more of that....nice to see the "human" side of the dancers as what they do on stage is not human, but super human.

The full frame 5D and the 70-200, together with your undeniable professional photography skill, really do justice to these dancers who have reached a high level of perfection, a tribute to all the long years of effort and practice. I ran the slideshow and in my mind could not find any particular shot that stands out since all seem so wonderful. Once again, thanks for posting and for you message. Peter Clark

I was at this SERBA festival as well as in the Appalachian Ballet Company's Spring show( the Giselle pictures). These are all remarkable and precise images. Thank you for making both of these events even more memorable!!!!!
