I believe that this picture was taken on a Sunday in Hue after the Tet offence. Those little boys who wear uniform are Scout Boys.
Thank you for the beautiful picture, and its remind me about my childhood in Hue.

you are a miracle worker, like helen keller teaching/allowing/encouraging people to see, even when they think they can't..........with your photographs, richard calmes you are a voice for the soft-sung lullabye, and for the mighty far-flung shout. thank you

We're children of the AVR. We thought we're ally of the US. It turned out we're betrayed by this paper tiger."Its easier to be the American enemies than allies." Unfortunately I think this is a true statement.I hate hate hate hate Henry Kissenger. The ghosts of Vienamese soldiers will haunt him till the end of his life.

This reminded me of my village with the tall wall on the left and the dirt road surrounded by coconut trees. Wonderful composition

The children seem very used to the soldiers...."Hey look that one has the trousers i wanted.... my mum didn't get me them!" - Says the Boy on the far left an the one in the middles thinking 'why is that british man taking a picture of us :-s '

I like the juxtaposition of the photo. It's sad to see how used to the soldiers they were, but a great document of the time.
