West of Ashland, Bayfield County, 30 July 2009

This adult male Rufous Hummingbird has been visiting a feeder west of Ashland in BAYFIELD COUNTY since at least Tuesday, July 28. This is only our second record of this species in the Chequamegon Bay area in the past four decades. Interestingly, the other was also an adult male at a feeder from August 6-13 in 2004.
