Hello and welcome to my photo page. I'm an avid birder and general naturalist who happened to acquire some of my father's photography skills. Thus far my life has taken me to a variety of locales and so you will find my galleries divided first geographically and then by taxa, with birds dominating as subject matter. You will also find a vast array of image quality represented here. I started out a decade ago shooting 400-speed print film. Eventually I graduated to lower speed slide film, which still required that I scan some images for computer viewing (and again sacrifice some quality). The majority of images, however, stem from the latest craze widely known as digiscoping. My technique is rather crude but gets the job done on my allowable budget. I simply handhold a Nikon Coolpix 4200 up to the eyepiece of my Bushnell Elite spotting scope. Great for documenting rare birds, decent for getting some good images, and most definitely alot of fun. Enjoy!
APRIL 2008 UPDATE: I just bought some non-digiscoping photography equipment. Check out results in my new gallery below labeled as "Digital_SLR_Photos".
