Artists of Montsalvat Exhibition 2009

I wanted to photograph all fourteen Artists who reside or work at Montsalvat for this important exhibition. I used a Burgundy Razzle 900 4x5 built especially for the task. I used a variety of B/W sheet film types and over a period of three months I managed to capture them all.

very nice work. i'm wondering is the era film actual iso rating 100 or something different?

Thanks Andrew...it was a lot of work but a whole lot of fun....All the artists were fantastic and I was more than excited about the results. I must say that of all the sheet film I tried, ERA was easily the best.

Great work. I visited Montsalvat a couple of weeks ago and peered through windows into the studios of many of these very artists.

Thanks David..There's no comparison for this kind of work. LF film exhibits a warm timeless quality that digital cannot manage.

Dean, your work in large format environmental portraiture is absolutely superb. Now you've gotten me large format inspired all over again! Wish I could see the original works...
