Italy, France and the North Shore of Minnesota
The two main area of photographic interest for me over the last year were the shores of Lake Superior, the North Shore of Minnesota, and an amazing trip to Europe, Italy and France.
The North Shore of Minnesota is quite captivating especially in the Grand Marais area where most of the North Shore of Minnesota photographs were taken last fall. Sunrises, sunsets, rivers, waterfalls and Lake Superior provide ample opportunity for creativity.
Mixing the large cities of Paris and Venice with the small villages like Montone and Lucca created a unique mixture of life in Italy and France. The rolling landscape of the country, the romantic villages on the Mediterranean coast and the history that continually surrounds you keeps one in a constant state of wonderment.
The show is sponsored by the Elk River Area Arts Alliance and runs from July 30 to August 31, 2007 at the Sherburne County Government Center.
Roger Nordstrom is a local, Elk River, photographer. My interest in Photography began as a child in California. I developed my first roll of film as a teen and later studied Photography as well as worked in the Photography department of Santa Ana College, in Santa Ana California. My Photography was put aside as I concentrated on developing a professional career in Computers. When Photography entered the digital age it was time to combine my computer knowledge with my creative side. My interest in Photography is broad but generally centers around landscape, history and people.
