Yering Station Vinyard is the site of Australia's first vinyard plantation established in 1838. It is a half hour drive from our home in the Yarra Valley.
Chateau Yering was constructed in 1854. The original house remains intact in plan form although some alterations have occurred over the years to individual rooms.
The heritage listed Cellar door building was constructed in 1859 and the historic barn in the 1860's.
In 1997 the historic winery began a new era with the construction of a state of the art winery and tourist complex which includes the Yering Station wine bar and restaurant.
