Killingworth Ruins Complex

Yea, Victoria.

Killingworth Ruins is of local historical significance as one of the early pastoral runs located in the district.
It is of considerable archaeological significance and has the potential to provide information relating to the station's use and occupation.
During the 1850's the homestead was already constructed. There were several bark huts for shepherds on the run along with sheep yards.
In 1888 a brick building was constructed to replace a weatherboard section of homestead. A brick stable (now in ruinous condition) at rear of homestead.
What you see in the two images is all that remains of the homestead destroyed in the 1969 bushfires.
