Palmetto Palm Frond

Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Mexico

I have observed thousands of palmetto palms but this is the only one
that possessed the peculiar yellow banding. A portion of the frond
was somehow bleached during its development creating this unique
appearance upon maturity.
