Antique cast-iron vertical and diagonal members supporting relatively-new deck of bridge carrying 31st Street over the C&O Canal, in Georgetown. The reddish light comes from the near-setting sun, and perhaps from reflections from the brick buildings along the canal. The amount of red in the image was reduced, through white point selections during raw file conversions, to moderate blowout, most problematic on the right-hand column. A few seconds later, the reddish light had moved to the right, and no longer illuminated most of the cast iron.
