University of Pittsburgh Nationality Rooms

The University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning (a 42-story Gothic-style tower) houses over two dozen classrooms on its lower floors which are decorated in the styles of classrooms of various nationalities and cultures as they would have appeared prior to the University's founding in 1787.

Many of the rooms contain fine artwork and even museum pieces in display cases. The amazing thing is that (with the exception of the Syria-Lebanon room), they are all functioning classrooms! I've attended lectures in the English room a number of times.

Thank you for your wonderful gallery. I grew up in North Hills, and greatly miss it! One of the things I remember was visiting the Cathederal of LEarning and touring those rooms! THANKS AGAINhttp://www.pbase.com/robnadel/
