On New Year’s Eve 2012 we find an eastbound Norfolk Southern ethanol train at Falls Mills, Virginia. Leading the way is Union Pacific SD90MAC No. 8101 providing plenty of horsepower for the final ascent into Bluefield, where the train will pause briefly for a crew change. Upon departure from "Nature's Air Conditioned City" it’s a 98 mile run over the former N&W Radford Division mainline to Roanoke.
