The Bluefield coaling tower photographed from the now demolished municipal parking garage in Bluefield. The 125 foot tall structure was completed on January 1, 1952. It had a capacity for 200 tons of locomotive coal, 150 tons of slack coal for stationary boiler use, 150 tons of wet sand and 50 tons of dry sand.
