As I explained in the gallery I use close-up lenses or an inverted 50 mm Olympus objective. This pictures is taken with the Olympus objective. As you see in the EXIF data I used no flash. The fly was a bit dazed so I even had time to run to my study and fetch a couple of extra lights. In this picture I did not use full zoom. In one of the other pictures of the fly you can see that I was nice to him/her as I fed him sugar... Ciao, Ragnar

there is no way you took this photo with that canon camera by itself, it has no macro mode and even zooming in all the way you can't get this far in. how did you take the photo?
